I have applied for Disability and I have very little income per month. Even though my house is paid for, I am about to lose it due to unpaid taxes. My attorney said I could apply for welfare but all of the programs I have found require that you have a dependent child which I do not. Does anyone know of any other programs I might qualify for while I wait for disability?

hope this helps SSD can expedite the application process through compassionate allowances program This program will identify people who have a medical condition so severe they obviously meet the disability of the compassionate allowance program under the SSI Social Security Act if your disabled and can't work due to a severe medical condition they expedite this process if your illness is at least one year or result in death look that information up as well also I found some information on the IRS has a tax hardship relief and that's a free case review and their number is (Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators) or their website is tax relief center.org Tax Relief Center. I have a 22 year old child who has Asberger's syndrome and was told 2 times that she did not qualify for Medicaid. I threw a fit and asked the caseworker if I should just throw her out on the street? the case worker excused herself and came back and had me fill out all the paperwork and then I received a phone call from disability determination services for Medicaid. Next thing I know she was approved. Now she qualifies for food and nutrition and free legal help to file for SSI.
