So my rheumatologist had me take 100mg [[treatment:prednisone:540f50e[[phone:08608753462000065]] 3:]] days for 4 weeks, then I went down to 10 for a month ,then 7.5 now I'm on 5mg , and Ive been experiencing lower back pain since the tapers. Was this too quick for him to do?
I don't really know if it is the time of tapering or not. But just coming down off it is hard. You will get your pain back and feel like you did before you started. while you are on it , it masks all pain and other things you could be going threw, at least that is what it does to me. I had infections and did not know it because I felt so good on it and had lots of energy, it gives you sense of well being when you rreally are not. Now if I take it because I have a lung infection that is different the infection will be gone and the lung pain will be gone, but the lupus pain and arthritis pain will still come back. I hope this helps some. gentle hugs and blessings

Thanks! So do I have to be more active? because I hardly am, and the doc checked my lower back and it came back normal so idk why it hurts
I asked my doctor about the plaquenil and he said it does nothing for pain, it is suppose to help with the lupus and try to keep it under control but not as a pain management thing. Sorry I wish it would I know it takes awhile for it to get into your system. If your pain is really bad they obviously do not have you on something stronger to deal with it. I take a oxyneo for my pain I a day, I know some people think I will get addicted to it, but there are not many choices when you have kidney issues and that one is better for kidneys compared even to Tylenol for the damage it can do and anti inflammatory's. You have to go into you doctor forceful and say I can not take the pain anymore so you have to give me something for relief, believe me if it was him goingh threw it he would not be in as much pain. gentle hugs and blessings
Thank you also I barly got back on plaquenil do u think it will help the back pain once it kicks in?
