Anyone else experience muscle weakness in your biceps? I can't hold my phone, drive, fold laundry, reach and get things out of my cabinets! Very frustrating, not sure if this means my Vitamin D levels are low again or if the prednisone was simply masking this for so long! Any help or advice, suggestions are much appreciated! :)
Just a note from what I experienced in the about 20 years that I have lupus: the disease comes and goes in different disguises...one time I had "asthma" landed in hospital twice for oxegen..got chronic asthma pumps ..nothing worked...after 2 years it dissappeared....once my left hip and left knee just gave in....almost 6 months I struggled with crutch.....then it dissappeared...imagine if I went for a hip or knee replacement?
@A MyLupusTeam Member,I'm happy you enjoyed your day with your family. I pray your Sunday will be peaceful enjoyable as well.I saw my neurologist on Thursday,he said my burning leg, arms and finger pain is coming from my neck(cervical spine)due to the degenerative disease, the muscle spasm's are constant even with the meds.Ms BethLynn its always something,I thought the leg pain was coming from the herniated disc in my lumbar, that's not helping either. All we can do is say a prayer and take one day at a time,Hugs&Blessings.
Weakness in arms and thigh muscles since last September and muscle pain. I had EMG and it is not inflammation related. They said it was disease related. I also read there is a thing called prednisone induced weakness when you are on high doses of steroids for long periods of time. I have been on low dose for five years. I am convinced it is the lupus attacking the muscles just like it attacks the joints. I can walk and use my arms but it is like a heaviness feeling and very annoying.
i have a sort of numbness i my hands and legs feet i get the shakes too i had an mri sca as my rhuematolagist dr had an idea what it was its spine tumours wich affect my limbs i have a really good dr there so greatful she gets me sorted and looks afterme well bit of brainfog today but im fighting my corner
I have muscle weakness also but just put it up to being part of the lupus. @A MyLupusTeam Member I will mention it to my doctors did not realize it could be a problem, thanks for the info. Should of know that nothing is normal with us. I hope you are having a good day with little pain, dare I say. I had a great weekend so far. My family had a bbq for me yesterday and I am just waiting for a friend to pick me up for a surprise afternoon, I love when someone plans events for you, thinking is becoming another problem ha. take care gentle hugs and blessings
