Question? How many of you have had positive Ana and then have it turn negative? Mine have been negative twice now and I don't get it.

Yes, it can be negative even after you've had lupus many many years.

I know 33% of people with Lupus have a negative ANA all the time....I read online that the Ana results fluctuate up and down or even to negative throughout the disease and it doesn't mean you are getting better or worse.

I have been Neg ANA since the beginning, the only thing that occasionally comes back positive is my anti ds dna. Even that is just on a rare occasion. Sad part of all this is Rheumatologists have dismissed me as having SLE because of my neg ANA status. I was diagnosed 25 yrs ago, and it was based on symptoms and a positive Anti DS DNA, for which he said in all his years of practice he had never seen someone with the positive Anti DS DNA not have lupus. Its just that some of us for whatever reason are neg ANA.

Thank you! I have high CRPn and positive antiphospholipid antibodies. I also have fibro and feel like my doctor is just lumping everything on that.

Thanks. It scares me that she is writing this stuff in my chart and my disability judge is going to see it
