Charlotte, NC

Hello, does anyone know of lupus support groups in the Charlotte, NC area or would be interested in meeting up with others periodically? I feel so isolated as only one other person understands what this battle / journey is like and the toll it can take on you emotionally, on your family and personal relationships, financially and of course your health. Just looking for people that want to share and learn by connecting in person.

@ cjack 77. I'm glad that the appointment went well and she was thorough. I liked being able to get all of my necessary tests at AOCC. I'm sorry to hear that you have had to live with discomfort. I hope you get relief soon and the answers you need for effective treatment. I go back in September.

Yesterday I was pretty much exhausted and feeling blah. I've been trying to get some time at the gym a couple days a week but it's been tough. I was on a dose pack for my breathing which had me feeling great for a while. But has worn off so my symptoms are back. I miss the old me. I haven't been feeling horrible but I don't feel great either. Lots of achyness and that burning feeling around my neck, lower back and shoulders. Also feeling the fatigue and have a bit of a sore throat today. Trying to stay positive but today it's a challenge.

@A MyLupusTeam Member I saw her on Friday. She said she was going to approach my case from scratch. She ordered several blood tests, urine and ultrasounds of my hands. She advised me to go back to my dermatologist and have him do a biopsy of my scalp regarding the plaque patches and the short , brittle edges. She said she would update me on all my results via the portal this week. I hope she can explain why I've had a fever around 100 degrees for almost 90 days straight now. She was very polite, professional and listened to my concerns.
Thank you so much suggesting AOCC. The rheumatologist I saw at MMG did not have the on site facilities like AOCC to do the ultrasound. MMG rheumy could only schedule me at Carolinas Imaging at Moorcroft CHS, which did not have an opening until late July. As a result, the rheumatologist told me I could not take any anti-inflammatory meds, not even ibuprofen, as not to skew the results. Thus, I've had to stay in a state of discomfort for several weeks. :-0 Going to AOCC got the ball moving a bit faster, so thanks again.

How are you doing? I hope you have been feeling well.
