Ok. I finally went to get my hair cut this week. Haven't had it done since March. Doesn't grow much. I have a lot of hair but it's fine, and stick straight. When the stylist cut my hair she asked. "Why is your hair only curly behind your right ear?"
I have hair loss in the top of my head now .I use to have dred locks down my back when I was DX but as my symptoms progressed, I would wake up with several locks lying on my pillow to the point where I had to cut them off. I was very disturbed about this because they were beautiful and people/strangers would compliment me on them.I started using Kerenique. It helped but the growth was very slow. My niece who is a stylist just told me that Minoxidil, B12 and Termeric will make it grow. I can't say yet that it works because I just started the treatment. I'll let you know. My hair loss is at the top of my head. I'm hoping it works.
Alopecia of some type I am thinking. Stress ,trama, and illness are all causes. Could go away but change the way the hair grows in that spot. For example that spot could grow out gray, curly, coarse, just different than it was before. It will not hurt you however when things affect our appearance that can become pretty painful. Hope this helped.
Hmm. Interesting:-) All of my hair is curly now. Going Tuesday and having it cut short. Way way short:-). I I'm tired of trying to do something with it.
I lost about 1/2 of my hair when first diagnosed. The six months of chemotheraphy didn't help. Its now starting to come around. Not as thick as it was but slightly curly and wavy. I keep it short and spiky with blond streaks. Much easier to look after when on the motorcycle and camping. Waiting for a good hair day to post another picture.
A friend of mine was sick and lost much of her hair. When she got better an it grew back it was very thin, fine and curly.
