Last wednesday i had two teeth taken out ,no problems getting them out but i still feel alot a pain every ,it is monday so i went back and had them check it out, he said the good news is its healing well. he gave me antibiotics and vicodan and told me to take 3 advil and 1 tylenol and 6 hours and vicodan at night. why do i have to hurt so much when other people say they dont after a couple days. the pain radiates all over ,is this normal?
I really think it depends on the person I heal really fast most of the time and I am in a big Lupus flair right now
KarenEllisFalconi Thank you for your response, you certainly have had your fair share of pain . i hope you get your teeth straightened out soon and feel better also.
@A MyLupusTeam Member I think EVERYTHING takes longer to heal with having Lupus. It does for me. ~ i have gone through SO MUCH dental pain it's not even funny :'( Going through some now as a matter of fact. Having Sjogren's & not producing enough saliva I think plays a part too. I kept my teeth for AS LONG as possible because I did not want to get denture's. YUCK!!!! Over the years, I had numerous extractions, 12 front teeth crowned 6 upper & 6 lower (LOTS of money!!!). My teeth literally would break off just brushing them. The crowns lasted though for over 15 years which is good. Under my lower denture the last implant fell out & the denture has rubbed my gums raw, so I'm having more implants put in - this time not the mini-ones. Thus all the pain & oh my -whew, I could cry.
I do hope that you start to feel better VERY SOON. I can most certainly sympathize with you Sweetheart. Hang in there & keep those teeth as long as you can ;)
It's a good question. My dentist has been after me to get a cracked tooth crowned for a while. I'm so hesitant because it takes me forever to heal and I'm unable to take antibiotics due to Cell Cept.
I hate tooth pain. I seem to have more pain with simple extractions, than I do with complicated ones. Some teeth have one root, some have two and molars have three. Sometimes they are slightly curved in opposite directions. Seems that I also get more pain at the injection sites, than the tooth. Lower jaw worse than upper.
