When my Rheumatologist said that we went to Imuran, andd Immunosuppressive meds (chemo meds) , and various forms of Methotrexate. I ended up having reactions to all. Only thing we can use is rest, rest, and rest some more. Prednisone at different
levels according to any organ involvement , and a continuous 2.5 maintenance dose, along with Plaquenil twice a day. I wish you all the best! We are all unique. May your Physician find what works best for you.

Big guns is usually imuran. There are some good infusion therapies. Benlysta is a new infusion therapy. It is the only drug developed specifically developed for lupus to attack the antibodies. I've been on and off of it since 2012. I was doing the clinical trial. I will say I have a lot of the side effects which I hate but a lot of people don't. I think I get them because my gastric system is already so messed up so I wouldn't steer you away from trying it. I would recommend that if you get nausea with the infusion treatment have them give you zofran with your treatment, it really helps. I tried methotrexate which really helped with pain but I had horrible mouth and nose sores so they had to switch me to imuran. Sending you hugs. Hope you feel better soon.
