Hi everyone! :) I was wondering at what age were you guys diagnosed with lupus and how was it like (first symptoms, etc.), how do you deal with pain and all that stuff? I wanna know, I like reading other's stories!
Good morning! I'm 39 and was diagnosed with subacute lupus in September 2016, and then SLE a few weeks ago. The first sign I had was that my hair started falling out. Then the major rash came on. It took five skin biopsies and blood work three times to figure out it. Looking back I had many systemic symptoms that I didn't pay attention to. Then I went to the Cleveland Clinic for the SLE diagnosis. They were wonderful! I had a meltdown over it all, then decided I was going to try to be positive and live the best life I can. It's a struggle every day!!
Well I was diagnosed when I was 6 years old & Im 38 now! I've had so many things going on at one time that they actually told me I was and am a diffult case, cause Im allergic to alot of meds & that makes it hard on me to get certain meds, so they have to be real careful & look at my list of meds to make sure it dont effect it if they do prescribe me some meds! Me, though deal with swelen in my legs & feet which makes it difficult to walk, especially since I have Rheumatoid arthritis, fybromialgy too & Yes I have severe chronic pain were I have to take pain meds and I take it as directed cause they say Percocet can be additive, but Im not in that kind of calorgory! I have heart problems and ypu know I just take it one day at a time and deal whats going on for the moment! Yes, I hurts so bad that I want to ball up under the bed somewhere! Sometimes I feel sad that Im not able to do as much as I use to, especially since I have a husband & 4 kids! Sometimes they how to leave me at home & they go to the dtore or do things for me to help me put! Sometime I just want to sleep, sleep, sleep the pain and all the other thing wrong with me away! I be feeling like a big mac truck ran over my body, and its on a daily basis and I get frustrated cause Im not at my best for my kids & sometimes it really do make me feel some type of way, so I have a Psychiatrist to help me through! Hope this help you! Keep your head up and its ok if you cant do somethings no more, try not to dwell on what you npt able to do, & just take your time, one fay at a time & May God give you a peace of mind while goingbthrough your ups & down! Be Blessed Warrior Sister!
Hi, I was diagnosed at age 61. I think I had lupus long before that. First I got Hashimoto's. Then I had reynauds. Then I had Sjogren's I think then I had Interstitial cystitis. Then the lupus got diagnosed but as I said it seems like I've had in a long time. I just didn't realize I had it. When I moved South then the sun really hit me and I got really sick.
Hello I was diagnosed 5 months ago and, I'm 26 years old and I've been on plaquinal for 8 weeks 400mg and I had a weird lump on my inside of my left elbow and I was seeing an orthopedic and was recommended to see a rheumatoid arthritis and I did she ran some tests and found out.
Hello! For me, 17 years old and I've been suffering for years haha. If I hadn't gone to the ER for a DVT in my femoral vein and multiple pulmonary embolisms in my lungs they wouldn't have done blood tests and looked into lupus :)
