Wow I cant even begin to tell you how much i understand your problem. I had the same exact issues. Im not sure what isurance is and i hate to be presumptive but i would assume ca health and wellness or blue cross medical? There is a dr chung is south lake tahoe who accepts that (for me he was not helpful). Ca health and wellness website has a find a provider tool maybe that can help or if your declined by ucsf/uc davis but insurance authorized the rhuematologists then if your provider contacts the prior authorization department of ur insurance they will find a provider for you. You cant do it the providers office has too. If my assumption is wrong and u do not have medical of some kind sierra rheumatology in roseville, dr sandhu in chico, dignity health in sac, and arthritis associates of redding accept med-care/ppo/hmo plans. Redding is about 5 month wait but the other ones are roughly 2. Harbor health neurology in sac about 2 month wait list takes medi-cal too. Im sorry i actually work as a referral coordinator in the area i truly hope this helps.
I have Anthem Blue Cross, I saw Dr Sandau in Chico in 2011, let's just say it was a horrible experience and my doc has never referred another patient there, the same happened with 2 other patients, unrelated health issues, the same happened with a Redding RA in 2003. I was actually looking for RA's in the Sacramento area. My doctor will not release me back to work. He put his foot down in August about me returning to work. Which he has never done in the 28 years that he has been my doctor. Thank you for your information.
