Members responded with care to someone experiencing esophagus spasms, vomiting, unusual bowel changes, and dizziness without a gallbladder, with the strongest theme being the urgent need to get checked out right away. Several members shared that dehydration, missing gallbladder complications, and lupus-related nervous system issues can all contribute to these symptoms, with one member noting that digestive motility problems and fatty liver caused similar issues until a GI specialist and targeted supplements helped. A recurring theme was self-advocacy, including seeking patient advocates, pushing for timely specialist care, and exploring options like probiotics or motility medications with a knowledgeable doctor.

Since you’re dizzy , it sounds like you may be dehydrated from the vomiting and diarrhea, so please get checked out right away, Patricia !

I've had problems w esophageal spasms before. I didnt know it was related to lupus and my nervous system until recently. I have anxiety too. When you dont have a gall bladder your digestive system can do odd things. Better get checked out.

I have little motility in my whole digestive tract and a fatty liver producing many of those same symptoms. I've been diagnosed with a sclerosis overlap disorder and recently had esophageal surgery to deal with the reflux that was affecting my teeth. The partial wrap of my esophagus with my stomach helped. I take various prebiotics and probiotics to help with digestion and moving stuff through the rest of my tract. Since I've been taking supplements for NAFLD, my regularity has improved. A good GI doctor with knowledge of lupus and Sclerosis may help.

A year!!!!! OMGG (good gracious) I woulda been blowing up somebody's phone everyday....the surgeon who took my organ out!! They knew better than to let you wait a year!! Thats so infuriating!! You shouldn't have let them get away with that. Patient Advocates exist to make sure they dont. Your life was at risk. People, you have the right to tell your doctors to do their damn job. We can be nice about it..at first.
