Yeast Infections/bacterial Vaginosis

A MyLupusTeam Member asked a question πŸ’
Michigan, MI

This is for the ladies:
I've always dealt with yeast infections over many years. Lately I've been getting more of bacterial vaginosis. I've read places where lupus patients are more likely to get them. Other places say it has nothing to do with it. I'm curious as to what everyone else has heard.

I eat yogurt almost everyday and I take a probiotic daily. That doesn't seem to help any. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Certain name brand of a probiotic?

Thank you in advance.

My naturopath has be periodically do boric acid douches periodically with the use of a probiotic vaginally at the same time. A 1-2 week treatment will last me about 4 months before things get off again

You can get Nystatin drink, nystatin powder, also thrush or fungal cream - clotrimazole 1% betaderm 1 % cream - apply twice daily- really helps! You will be pleased!

I've dealt with this for most of my adult life, even when I was pregnant. It is miserable. I was also super allergic to any vaginal cream. Mine didn't really go away until my hysterectomy at 35. I had early menopause I believe due to having Lupus. I wish I could help. :(
