I have taken plaquenil for years. It arrests Lupus, stops it from getting worse . Stay out of the sun, wear UV clothing, UV car windows, eat and excersise regularly . Sleep when tired,at least 8hrs

It takes 4-6 months to really see results from it. I also found out it is good because it can help prevent blood clots which can happen with lupus and I myself am prone to. Like every medicine for lupus when you hear the doc say give it time to work this really takes time. Just be patient.

It took about 4 months for the full effect to kick in. Rx anti-inflammatory are helpful while you wait. They usually won't prescribe steroids until they give time for the Planquenil time to work. Hang in there!

It takes a little longer than that to really work for you. I'm on plaquenil . It took me 6 months to feel the benefits.
