Does anyone else have body twitching or jerking that you cannot walk well and it can wake you up in the middle of a dead sleep?

I get jerking of my left leg especially. usually coupled with severe pain and numbness. I soak my feet in cold water as my feet feel hot and are usually red and swollen.

yes you can have that and have lupus and my lupus doctor says it has been a lot of that going around she has notice. People don't realize that lupus can effect a lot all over the body. I get them so bad that she put me on Nifedipine ER 30mg, yes it is used sometimes for high blood pressure, but they are finding that medicines that work for one can work also for lupus. Strange yes, but true. I am in the medical field and I am very surprised on what they are trying for people living with lupus. The jerking, pain and feels like someone is taking your arm, hands, and even your legs and feels like someone is trying to take your skin inside out., it is Raymond disease which I think I spelled wrong. LOL. I am also on chemo pills, and it is slowly working to ease a little bit. We all know that there is not a cure or we are going to be 100%, but if we stand together and help each other, somethings others tried might work for another. .My doctor is at National Jewish in Denver and they are in a big part of research for lupus and other auto-immune disease, and I am one of the people they are studying, which I am so glad to be chosen to help.
Please have a blessed day

Well yes but my lupus had nothing to do with it I was diagnosed with hypomagnesemia so I either have to sit in a hospital for 2 days if it is severe getting magnesium through an I.V. or they give me the pills because if your magnesium levels are low it will cause you to jerk in your sleep or if you're walking it also causes you to become extremely anxious it makes you have like muscle spasms and it can make you aggressive too if your magnesium levels are low once i get the magnesium infusions the jerks go away because they trigger my seizures which i hate, the medications you take for your lupus could've possibly been a factor but there are other reasons to why i have hypomagnesemia.
