For past 10 years I have been having trouble with my upper abdomen. It will hurt like something awful and swell from belly button up to the point I look 8 months pregnant but from belly button down doesnt sell or hurt. When it does this I cant eat or drink cause it makes it hurt worse and feel like its gonna bust. Does anyone else have this problem?

Glad you are checking the GI route but I have had this with my current flair. I am so tender and swollen in the stomach. It was painful just sitting up. It's always worse when I increase prednisone. That shape is part of the side effects. It has seemed to improve as I am getting better. You must be checked for ulcers. If they don't find anything try looking up Lupus and gastrointestinal on google. You may be surprised at what this disease can do.

I have nasty GI symptoms. My upper abdomen is always tender. Since March of last year I've lost over 40 lbs. The most they've been able to tell me is GERD, h pylori infection and IBS. I would ask to have an h pylori overgrowth test. It can wreak havoc on your GI sytem, is linked with Lupus and is hard to get rid of. I've done 2 treatments of heavy duty antibiotics and they still haven't wiped it out. I also bloat and get pains and nausea from eating... and sometimes even not eating lol. They've done all kinds of tests and don't seem to have much of a clue other than the h pylori

Yes I had that it was a henia, I had it removed, and now I can eat without pain. And my stomach went down. Go to your gastro Dr to see if that what it is.
