I'm in severe pain in my left leg in the groin area. It hurts when I sit & the pain shoots up to my left side of my butt. Is this a siatica issue or a lupus issue? It's almost like if I just turn the wrong way, my body is going to stop & get stuck because my leg pain. Has anyone experienced siattica?

It could be a muscle pull. I was also told when you have pain close to the butt it is usually the hip that is the problem , I had to have a hip replaced and the pain was always butt area and lower back and going down the leg, I could not stand for very long. I also have had both knees replaced. I am not familiar with sciatica so can not help you there. I have ostio arthritis so that was the cause of it. I say it is lupus also they are all conncected never know for sure what is what and really does not matter the pain is the problem. Do you have anything to take that helps with the pain. Also when you sleep at night put a pillow between your legs that helps some. I hope you get some answers soon. gentle hugs and blessings

Sorry I pushed the button too soon. Get some rest for your back and don't move in ways that make it hurt. Don't lift anything too heavy. I don't know which meds you are on but usually the anti-inflammatory medications like Motrin help this. But if you are on some medications for lupus this might be contraindicated. My rheumatologist gives me a Cortizone shot in the back by the correct vertebrae and I'm set for six months. You can check with your doctor which medication is safe for you. Chances are you've reached or stretched in a direction that aggravated that disk which is between the vertebrae. Good luck, feel better !

Look up Dermatones on Google and you will see the nerves of the spinal column and the places they control. Find the area on the diagram that you have pain and it will tell you which spinal nerve is controlling that area. The areas of control on the diagramwrap around sometimes go down the leg , to the groin or across the upper part of your hip etc. Sharp shooting pain is often a nerve condition or inflammation especially when it's triggered by a motion. Can also be hip but you appear young in your picture and unless you have another condition I would bet on the nerve pain. Seems to me like

Thank you everyone. So kind of you. I laid low all day today & I'll see tomorrow if I feel any improvement. Definitely need a dr visit this week if it doesn't get better or if still in this amount of pain. I appreciate all of you. ๐Ÿ’œ
