My hands get swollen and stiff and the tips of my fingers often get numb and tingle. They do not turn a different color. Also my toes feel numb at times. Can i possibility have Raynauds? How do you test for that? Not sure if this is just part of lupus or can it be Raynauds.

Hi there. There are several reasons why symptoms like that can happen. I found a great article that I was looking for myself a while back.

http://symptomchecker.webmd.com/multiple-sympto...

I personally have been diagnosed with Raynauds phenomenon, carpal tunnel, RA, PdA, lupus, DDD and Hashimoto's just to name a few. Doesn't help that once you have one autoimmune issue you are susceptible to anything else out there as your body is already attacking itself. Why not add more LOL. I would try anything that helps with the swelling, the tingling and warm up your extremities if they are cold... regardless of the reason. Also, make sure to update your doctors and make an appointment immediately if your symptoms change.

I hope this helps. I know how frustrating it is for me... so any little bit of information helps me feel better and settles my mind. At least a little bit. Please take care of yourself.

I have some kind of an autoimmune disease, but my Dr. said not Lupus. However, I have all the symptoms of lupus and have now started having pain in both hands/finger joints (knuckles) Especially in the morning when I first get up. My hands and finger joints are swollen and painful. Also I have pain in both elbows along with calcium deposits in both shoulders. I have Raynauds too. When I get too cold the tips of some fingers turn white, along with some toes, causing me to feel numb and tingling. I have to right away warm my fingers, by sticking them under hot water. Cynthia, Usually with Raynauds, your fingers and toes do turn white. Maybe it could be something to do with your circulation. God Bless

I have Raynaud's and sometimes my toes and fingers tingle have pain but don't always turn colors, only some of the time. But these things always happen due to temperature changes hot to cold or cold to hot. I do not have swelling when this happens. I get stiffness but not during my Raynaud's symptoms. My digits will get very numb but not stiff. I was diagnosed with Raynaud's by my reporting of these symptoms to my doctor. Hope this info helps you. Sending smiles and strength to you!

My doctor diagnosed me with raynauds without color change and those symptoms. It's a trait of a lot of medical conditions though
