How do you deal with lupus and your age? What do you do with your life (work, student, disabled, etc), and how does lupus affect your life goals/work?
When were you diagnosed and how did it change your life?
I'm just wanting to meat more young lupus warriors, I'll be commenting as well.

Hello! I try to take everyday at a time and rest if needed I don't live the life of a normal 24 year old my weekends aren't for partying anymore.

I am currently on temporary disability because of several complications I'm trying infusions and going to attempt to go back to work in December. Lupus has unfortunately affected everything for me, I can't do any of the things I used to do. I used to work out be on the go all the time now I'm always inside resting I can't work out which I try to take my dogs on long walks but most days I need my rollator.

I was diagnosed with lupus in April 2017 and sjogrens syndrome October 2016. Having confirmation that something was actually wrong with me was refreshing because I thought I was going crazy due to years of no diagnosis and several doctors i try to be more cautious to avoid a flare.

I'm 23 and feel like the world is over now that I'm sick I am trying to get my pre reqs for nursing and now I'm wondering if I'm cut out for that work since I'm struggling going to one class I'm currently unemployed as well. I was recently diagnosed but I've been extremely fatigue for the last couple years with dry mouth and eyes. This year started with pain both in muscle and joint and that's when I seen my doctor.

I am 23 and was diagnosed five months ago. I was going to school but I put it on paused for a little while at least until I have my Lupus under control. The first thing my doctor told me was I needed to exercise. I sometimes wake up with no energy to do any exercises so I walk my dog which is easier. But I recommend yoga is very peaceful and to me a good exercise. I also still have lots of questions but I hoped this help.

While I am no longer in that <30 category. I wanted to comment and let you all know that it is possible to continue living a mostly normal life after being diagnosed with Lupus. About a year after my diagnosis, I went back to school and got my second Master's degree. Don't be afraid to let you professors know what you are going though, if just to warn them of possible sick days etc. And don't be afraid to look into grants and scholarships through your school's disability program.

I am 84 and was diagnosed just last year. I've had symptoms since my 20s but somehow muddled thru. No doctor identified it then. It comes and goes, so you can live a good life. Old age doesn't help with the exercise and I can't do yoga anymore. But I'm now on Prednisone for a month and, for me, it does wonderful things. Energy, lost 10 lbs, sores healed. At your age you can keep on going.
