Has anyone suffered from Pericardial effusion? I am going to get a echo cardiogram tomorrow, hoping I don't have to get fluid extracted out. This seems to be my biggest symptom so far....
Yes! The pericarditis is what led to my diagnosis of lupus! It seems to be better now, but raises its ugly head when I have a bad flare. My primary physician caught the pericarditis and told me it's one of the chief symptoms of lupus.
Oh, I can only imagine that wasn't fun! I have my appointment today for a echo cardiogram. It really sounds as if we have the same situation. I've been fighting this chest pain for 10 months now, finally went to see a rheumatologist since my GP was done testing for everything. Don't get me started with that. I have a feeling since I've had this for so long, I will need fluid draining as well since I have moderate pericardial effusion, ugh. I've been experiencing more symptoms, such as achy joints and fever, along with fatigue. My Titer was only 1:80 and my number for the Anti Ds DNA is 14. low numbers, but they are treating me as if I have lupus. I'll let you know what happens today....
I;m so sorry i hope not my Anti Dsdna is 25 and ANA negative and my quack of a neourologist said oh it could be a false positive i hate medicaid can't get good dr's mostly crappy.
Yes! I had a pericardial effusion with plural effusion which developed into cardiac tamponade. I ended up getting both my lungs and heart fluid drained...Since that episode, which was not fun and would love to chat more about with you, I've developed pericarditis. My blood work has been all over the place, but I had been seeing a rheum dr. for 7 years for positive ANA with joint pain (my ANA was barely positive). She has now officially diagnosed me with lupus.
Do you have a high ANA? I have a low ANA and a low anti d's DNA number, but both were positive. Just still trying to figure everything out.
