I know that taken meds can kinda change your taste on some things but, I can't find anything that I use to eat that still taste the same not only that I don't like it anymore at all. Does anybody else have this problem ?

As we get older we lose our sensitivity to taste which is why we can find older cooks adding more salt. Also there is a problem with our sense of smell. Add to this natural aging, conditions with Lupus such as paralized scilia( tiny nose hairs) or paralysis of them, less saliva production and dehydration, we are going to have problems with taste. Learn some tricks of appetite stimulation. Make the plate look gorgeous, use interesting dinnerware. Position the food attractively. Use lots and lots of colorful food. Bend over your dish and use your hand to waft the aroma into your nostrils.
If you are drinking a warm beverage use both hands to bring the cup to your lips and savor as much of the smell that you can. Clean your palate before you begin to eat with some refreshing water with lemon. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water. Find the foods that taste best to you and enjoy them. Grieving for what we have lost, even the joy of foods is something we experience on an ongoing basis, but it can rob us of the joys we have left and the stress can increase pain and trigger flares. With grief we need to recognize it and deal with it as best and as quickly as possible.

I can't take steroids. A blessing in disguise perhaps but I know that "I would eat cardboard " feeling. I thought eating protien was better than sugar, bread, etc. My son, a Las Vegas Chef and body builder helped me understand that my best bet was to keep lots and lots of green leafy vegetables around to snack on. Celery, Broccoli, Kale, (chips made in microwave in 1 minute) lettuce wraps.
Almonds work good for me. My back teeth have troubles but I nip the almonds a bit at a time with my front teeth then chew them slowly. Great snack that satisfys me and is good for inflammation.

Yes Christy I know what you mean on steroids. The dog food looked good. My doc has taken me off them for awhile now because of excessive weight gain. I really haven't taken my lyrica for awhile. I just can't figure out why my favorite foods arnt my favorite foods anymore????
