Sounds like very much like the approach that my doctor uses with me. When things get bad though he does only Ruth my agreement put me back on steroids. We have agreed that I do need a rheumy, and will be seeing in a week. We are working on my Vitamin D, iron, type 2 D and high blood pressure. I will definitely ask him about this though!
That is great. I will look into. My doc is great, but still thank there could be more answers and help
DebraDymondKnowles. 😀 it does sound like it. Functional Medicine also looks at the whole person. (I forgot to mention that) lol
It looks at vitamin and mineral deficits as part of the possible causes of illnesses. They treat the deficiencies, therefore treating the illness, mostly by more natural methods. I was diagnosed with lupus in August and still haven’t heard when my first appointment is at the rheumatologist. My cardiologist wants the referral sooner than later so I found a Functional Medical Dr that specializes in cardiology and autoimmune diseases. I would rather treat it this way when I’m still able to and hopefully postpone drugs until much later. My body has a history of not getting along with medications, so I think it would be worth looking into.
