I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and R.A. in January 2014 and Lupus in January 2015 after mutiple testing of positive ANA test and symptoms. All test came back extremely high. I was then put on plaquneil, levothyroxine, predisone, and a weekly injection(cant remember name, but it was for my lupus).
I stopped taking all my medicine on my own in November 2016. I went back to the doctors in February 2017 to get tested and back on medicine because I still had all my symptoms (hair loss, butterfly… read more
This is Why it's so hard to diagnose lupus. If they told you that you have lupus, then you do. Lupusbwill go into remission, when it doesn't test positive. When you have a lupus flare, your bloodwork will usually have something that will test positive. Go to lupus.org and look it up and read about it. This website is very informative.
Hope this helps.
@A MyLupusTeam Member , I thought the same thing. Idk maybe I just picked a bad rheumi. It was my first time seeing him and he told me I didn't have it cause my ANA test and all my other test that would suggest lupus or an autoimmune disease came back negative. And yes my thyroid was really bad! Around the 700 numbers, I stopped my medicine and it got better on its own. This is so weird. And I will ask my doctor to look into that as well. Thank you for answer! xoxo
I too am interested on this topic. I was diagnosed in 2016 with uctd as my pcp had suggested probable lupus given my labs, but when I saw rheum. they said it was not lupus based off of labs.. after I found out about pregnancy, all my labs luckily got better ANA negative after 3 previously positive ANA. Throughout pregnancy labs were “normal”. Post pregnancy labs are still normal but yet I feel like poop! I almost felt pushed off by rheumie my last visit, almost saying I didn’t have anything to still continue plaquenil because labs were “perfect”.
Update on my behalf.. I delivered my daughter all was fine for both of us. My labs are still within normal range and ANA is still negative. After 3 more visits to my rheumy, he now thinks I have fibromyalgia as I was having severe pain in my joints and back that was not getting better with current medications. Now facing surgery for hysterectomy to stop uterine bleeding caused from pcos and endometriosis on top of uterine fibroids.. it seems it never ends but hopeful to have relief at the end of the tunnel! Staying positive is the only way to beat it! And also never give up if you feel your body is telling you otherwise!
Thank you so much @A MyLupusTeam Member ! I’m going to do that now
