Today at numerous points throughout the day I became very dizzy and lightheaded. I have never experienced this since my diagnosis (3 weeks ago). Also started to have tingling in my feet. Started to go down on the presnisone and a whole host of things are hitting the fan. Thoughts?

@A MyLupusTeam Member I've had dizzy spells as my first symptoms of lupus 35 yrs ago. My diagnosis took 9 years! It was brutal not knowing. Anyway I was diagnosed with central nervous system involvement which can cause at certain times an array of symptoms such as dizziness, balance issues, short term memory loss, confusion, agitation. I was on some meds but they made me psychotic and extremely tired. I'd rather put up with the symptoms. Maybe ask for a brain MRI to rule out other things. I feel for you. Dizziness is aggravating! Just keep digging for answers. God Bless Hugs Holly

I also have the dizziness. I actually lose my vision completely at times for a good 30 plus seconds at a time. About a week ago it happened while I was driving and I was in a car accident. Very scary and it makes me very nervous to drive at all. I brought it up with my Dr and he just acted like it was a normal thing. What happens if my kids are in the car and it happens, or i hit another vehicle? I feel like a lot of these Drs don't take any of the symptoms seriously, or just plain don't care. I have the tingling in my whole body, not just my feet. My spine specialist says that could be from the nerve damage in my left leg. Have you ever had nerve testing done? I would start there. Hope this helps.

I didn’t mean to scare you, but I had issues with my heart
rate and I felt like fainting many times. It could be prednisone
but I agree with you, maybe you should move your appointment.
Keep me posted, good luck!

@A MyLupusTeam Member I think you should see your doctor, check
your heart and make sure it’s not from medication.
Tingling happens often, it could be a pinched nerve.
If you are dizzy and lightheaded call your doctor,
you are new to this, so it’s hard for you to tell how
serious symptoms are, best to be sure. Hugs, hope
you feel better 💜

I rely on my primary more, sometimes he calls my rheumy to
confirm if he should prescribe someting, so they communicate.
He discovered my pericarditis, so then my rheumy changed my
lupus meds.I usually just let my rheumy know what happened
and what meds I was on in between our visits, antibiotics, etc.
Your sense is right, my rheumy doesn’t want to deal with
minor problems, usually just lupus related stuff, but I can
e mail with questions, and usually get an answer within
a day which is great.
