Thank you Jams. I take mezcalin now. Its non-drowsey dramamine. My dr told me to take it. 💜💙💛

I’m not dx’d yet with Lupus as I just ya my first rheumatologist appointment last week & we’re waiting on test results. I do have vertigo spells tho which are caused by another autoimmune disease called meinieres (sp?)

I believe it causes swelling and extra fluid in the middle ear. It causes a dullness in hearing, progressive hearing loss in certain ranges and dizzy spells from time to time. My dad had it to, it looks to be hereditary.

I used to take diuretics to help it but since my massive water retention and tests showing protein in my urine I’m afraid to take anything that might anger my kidneys!

I’ve read that having one autoimmune issue makes you more likely to have others, so perhaps it goes hand in hand with Lupus? Or perhaps the swelling associated with Lupus causes a similar type of problem in the middle ear

Not sure in any of that helped you 😩 Vertigo can be disabling when I strikes! I’m sorry your experiencing this. Having Dramamine or Bonnine nearby is a great help! Probably any motion sickness med. They’ve saved me a few times

@A MyLupusTeam Member a dear family friend also suffered from this and she too did the Xanax. It helped her tremendously

I do hydrochlorothizide to keep the water from collecting to the point of setting off an episode

Do you think it is lupus related? Or an issue that once you have an autoimmune disease you’re more likely to have others?
