Mixed Connective Tissue Disease

Has anyone heard of having this diease and lupus?

Having lupus means having 5 autoimmune diseases display for diagnosis. So having any other autoimmune disease just means you are a lupie. Connective tissue disease is lupus

My rheumy explained to me that he was diagnosing me with MCTD because I had so many issues besides just lupus. It sounds like you do too.

I have scleroderma which they say is a gardening of the skin due to the lack of collagen.Right now it is basically in one hand.

I have to be tested for it and seen in Minneapolis for this. They believe Lupus is the "head honcho" with multiple other diseases with it.

Yes, I have it. In fact, before my lupus was finally diagnosed my rheumy said it was mixed connective tissue disease. I now have lupus and RA and rupus, which encompasses the mixed connective tissue disease. It is quite painful, at least mine is.

How are you getting along? How has it affected you? I have been dealing with this for more than 30 years!
