Since I am still without an official diagnosis, I have so many questions. My rheumatologist said petichiae only comes on limbs. However, I get little bloody dots all over my spleen area. He swears that's not what they are, because he said that's not where they appear. Have any of you had the pin needle sized bloody dots in that area? What was it from if so? Still waiting to see if I have Lupus.. will not know more until August 15th. Sorry for all of the questions. Thank you all! 😘
Here’s a really good photo of what one might expect from petechiae. Mine are quick to clear up, likely because the dots are so small the system reabsorbs them in a day or so.
I’ll get these anywhere I’ve damaged the skin, usually by rubbing, scraping or scratching or if I’m having a lot of swelling in a certain area. If I give myself any larger of an injury like bumping my shin for instance, then I’ll get a huge but normal black and blue.
Petechiae is associated with low platelets which can be caused by autoimmune problems, so if you experience something like this getting your blood count would be important
you can get petechia anywhere on your body. For a lot of commonly known rashes petechia will appear on the limbs though, so that might be what he meant. If they are true petechia they will not blanch when a glass is placed over them, but cherry angiomas will and those are very common on the trunk- i have a bunch
That’s not me btw 😊 is grabbed that from google
I looked up on what you described and found another person that had the same question you ask.

scroll down and look at what kurthunk said about his and what his doctor told him and it had to do with Lupus.
There are so many ways that Lupus effects the body I sometimes think doctors don't even really understand it all.
