Hair loss is a common symptom of lupus and can also be a side effect of some medications used to treat the condition. Here are some key points:

- Types of Hair Loss: Hair loss, or alopecia, can involve hair thinning or falling out in patches. It often occurs at the hairline and on the scalp, but can also affect eyelashes and other body hair.
- Causes: Hair loss in lupus can be due to the disease itself or the medications used for treatment. Stress and natural hair shedding can also contribute.
- Prevention Tips:
- Treat your hair gently: Avoid chemical treatments, tight hairstyles, and heat styling.
- Use gentle hair care products: Baby shampoo and leave-in conditioners with sunblock are recommended.
- Limit UV light exposure: Lupus can make you more sensitive to light, which can damage hair and scalp.
