I was diagnosed with SLE and Lupus nephritis a month ago. Now I’m having these lesions pop up on my scalp with surrounding hair loss and they’re very tender and swollen. Is this discoid? And how should I treat?

I’m not a Dr, but my lupus journey started with the butterfly rash. I went to a dermatologist and I was getting some red scaly plaques on my face that itched. So he said he needed to do a biopsy to confirm lupus. Of course I freaked because I didn’t want a scar on my face and he said he could just biopsy the one on top of my scalp. I didn’t know it was on my scalp, several years later I lost all my hair in a large circle on top of my head. I can fortunately do a combover and noone even notices. The sad thing is the lights at my job bothered it too so 100+ sunscreen all the time. You need to buy a hat thru online coolibar that my dermatologist told me about. I tried everything to grow hair back to no avail. I wear a nylon nike scalp cap when I swim. Get to the Dr soon. They can also try scalp injections with steroids that don’t hurt at all. Get mild shampoo and no hot water. I wash my hair every four days. Hope this helps👍🏼

Talk to your dr about the sores. We all get sore in the scalp nose mouth. Prednisone and plaquenil fixed my problems 29 yrs ago. So good luck. 🙏🙏🙏🥰🥰🦋❤️❤️
