Today when I was brushing my teeth I had blood whenever I spit. I couldn't see any bleeding gums but definitely had blood mixed in with the toothpaste. I just saw my dentist and don't have a gum disease. I've always had good dental hygiene. I've always brushed often and now I do it even more with the Lupus because my mouth is always dry and the salty taste. Which I try despite to get rid of.

If it is persistent, have your dentist check to make sure nothing new has developed with your gums. I’m not sure how long you have been brushing your teeth more than twice a day, but consider whether the extra brushing may have caused some minor gum irritation. A possible alternative to brushing your teeth the extra times would be Biotene mouth rinse. If it is persistent and you have it checked out, let us know so we can learn from your experience.🤗

Years ago had an excellent dentist that gave me a great solution for our problem, he said I can give you an expensive prescription or you can make your own and use it daily. I have and it works great so here it is : get any mouthwash preferably one with no alcohol and get an empty jar, pour half in the jar and save for later. Now buy a bottle of regular peroxide at your local pharmacy and add it to the mouthwash so that it is 50/50 mouthwash and peroxide and use it as you normally do daily before and after you brush. You soon should stop seeing any blood. Not the best tasting and a bit foamy but works great, been doing it for 35 yrs.

This happens to me only in the morning after I wake up. I generally floss twice a day and brush 2-3 times a day. I use sensitive or very plain toothpaste since I have sensitive teeth and receding gums. My dentist advises against whitening toothpaste for folks with sensitive teeth.

Toothpaste has nothing to do with bleeding gums. Possibly you have gum disease or periodontitis disease.
What I did, I took 500mg of vitamin C daily for a long time plus rinse my mouth out with hydrogen peroxide but do not swollen it. And the best part, brush your gums and you will see the bleeding stop. I used to have this really bad. This work the best for me, also rinse your mouth out with salt water will help.
