My Dr put me on Plaquenil when she gave me the diagonoses. I'm just concerned since I have allot of GI issues. Will it make them worse? Who else has major stomach issues that takes this. I'm nauseous all the time since I don't want it to make it worse.

Plaquenel doesn't make me nauseous if I take with food. It helps me ward of flares and makes symptoms of lupus less severe. So, for me personally it is worth taking to keep my lupus at Bay. Good luck.

I loved plaquenil. It helped my brain fog and my leg and body aches so much. However, I started getting a lot more headaches and had 11 horrible migraines in 7 months so my doctor started me on imuran instead. I haven't been on it long enough to notice it helping. I also took a really good omega 3 (fish oil) with the plaquenil.

It is worth taking to keep my lupus at Bay. I love Plaquenil! I could not even walk before I started using it. That was 12 years ago. The doctors can't believe I have been doing so well for this long with no major problems just joint pain and fatigue.

To me, it is so worth it. I feel so much better with Plaquenil. Try it and see. Do you take probiotics?

@A MyLupusTeam Member I forgot you have Crohns Disease too. That's part of why your labs are all over the map. We'll talk later on this.

@A MyLupusTeam Member It has been worth it for me. There have been minimal side effects. The diarrhea comes and goes and could be related to my gi issues that are preexisting as I have Crohn's and other things, same eith my nausea that comes and goes. I am on a very high dose. The benefits are tremendous. It has the least side effects of most of the other drugs out there for Lupus and is a very stable drug. You just have to eat with it. And eat enough.
