Over the years I’ve tried several things. Ultimately, for me, I found just eating a well balanced diet, with lower saturated fat and processed foods, worked best for me. My diet is more in line with the Mediterranean diet, minus the garlic, than anything else.

Check out the book Bright Line Eating. I love it for the emotional eating aspect. If you don't need that, the "Anti-inflammatory Diet", GAPS, low-FODMAPS, or something similar is where you'll want to go. Essentially, cut sugar, grains, and alcohol. It works WONDERS.

My daughter swares by her anti inflamitary diet. Personally, there is so little I can enjoy due to other medical conditions, that I refuse to cut out anymore foods. But, like I said, my daughter is really happy with her diet.
