Hi all,
I am a 20 year old female and was diagnosed with lupus two years ago. A little over two years ago I started noticing my hair thinning. I have the thinning in the front of my hair line on the sides (kind of looks like receding hair line) and my hair breaks off easily. Basically I just want to I anyone struggles with this. Is it lupus related? Suggestions? Regrowth? It is just very upsetting at my age to have this problem.
Thanks!

Hair loss was one of my first lupus symptoms. Hang in there...it does grow back after the flare subsides. The Ordinary has a hair strengthening product that promotes hair growth, supposedly. Have been meaning to try it.

I take MSM supplements to lessen the hair loss and to help promote hair growth. Hope this helps.

This is a problem I know all too well. I took biotin for a while and it didn’t work for me. I lost my eye brows and my hair was thinning. I had to cut my hair short to make it not look as obvious (to me anyways). Besides having days that I feel like I got hit by a truck it’s by far the symptom I struggle with the most. My dr assured me that eventually everything will grow back so fingers crossed! So I understand how you feel! Just remember your not alone!

I had a huge bald spot, 2cmx5cm. I tried spironolactone and it grew my hair back in 3 months, I’m still on it a year and a half later, my hair from that bald spot is now chin length. My dermatologist prescribed it. It was crushing to see my hair falling out in chunks everyday. My spots got so bad I couldn’t hide it and strangers would smile at me thinking I was dying of cancer. It was very hard.
