For those of you whose rheum has referred you to a nerologist, what did they do on your first visit and did they say what the purpose was?

My situation was reversed. I was referred to a neurologist by my primary dr due to neuropathy and twitching. We thought MS. A MRI was ordered and came back clear. Neurologist found an elevated ANA and referred me to rheumatology. I was pushed off the minute ANA was found, suspecting lupus.

Not that bad the shocks are fairley fast my test took about 25 minutes. Seems my arms and legs were shocked about a total of 15 times. It was something like a TENS unit turned up too high.

I was sent to a neurologist after experiencing sensorineural hearing loss, neuropathy, muscle weakness, and bad migraines. They did nerve, muscle testing, I had an MRI of my brain and cervical spine. They also did balance and reflex testing, and a memory test. Brain looked good, cervical spine has stenosis and bulging disks. Apparently something with my balance/ reflexes was abnormal but typical with lupus. The doc wanted to prescribe gabapentin which I refused after researching it and didn’t feel it was a good fit for me. So he told me to supplement with B complex, magnesium and gave me naratriptan to take as needed for headaches.

I went to my friend who is a neurologist, I met her working in the hospital.
I made a appointment with her myself but my doctors where on board.
I went for my memory loss so she did a MRI with contrast to make sure I didn't have Lupus of the Brain, thank God I didn't so I saw a Psychologist who did memory analysis to see if it was my lupus or the chemo or a combination of both.
Best thing I ever did, you have to do memory I call them games she also talk to me about my life, well results where I have very little memory loss and that it was most likely from the combination of lupus and chemo, once I was off chemo I had a better memory but still have a little time remembering things more short term like someone tells you their name I okay and gone like the wind lol. But it is all good. Very glad I went!!
Good luck and prayers.

I had a mri of the brain done with contrast. They were testing for MS and other abnormalities. They requested for me to have a nerve test but i turned it down because of the bad reviews.
