I saw a new dr and he said that 80+ conditions can span off from fibromyalgia and a neurologist is the solution

I think its a great idea to see a neurologist. All the bases will be covered and your meds will probably be well thought out and pertain better to your illness. Plus, since lupus can creep around bc it's systemic, logically, our nerves could/will be involved, also! So, if we get a better diagnosis, we can fight this illness equipped with more knowledge and better medication decisions will be made by our doctors.

I’ve recently added a neurologist to my team of drs. I appreciate the additional information from the neurologist; their input makes me feel like I am covering all bases. I wish I would have done it sooner!

My Internist referred me to a neurologist because he feels the local rheumatologists are not equipped to adequately treat Myocitis. They diagnosed me with Dermatomyositis, then changed their minds after a bad reaction to Methotrexate. My Internist put me on Prednisone to help me get over the rash that covered my body, because they seemed angry I had an allergic reaction and refused to do anything about the rash?? They then insisted I have a MRI, while still on the Prednisone. Of course, accurate readings didn't occur. It was a waste of money. My Internist seemed as frustrated as I was with them. He felt they didn't know what they were doing and referred me to the neurologist for EMG studies and a muscle biopsy. I actually felt they did know what they were doing. You don't do an MRI, looking for inflammation while on huge amounts of Prednisone! They were writing me off, said I had multiple overlap disorders, and then claimed they don't treat overlap disorders.

My husband was also recommended to see one by his rheumatologist due to strange headaches
