Dry mouth

Dry mouth

Does anyone else suffer from horrendous dry mouth which is especially worse on a morning? I can cope throughout the day but in the night or morning it makes me feel nauseous

Yes, everyday pretty much, I have been blaming it on one of my meds though 🙁

As many others pointed out it could be because of Sjogrens or only Lupus. However you should also go through the side affects of certain meds like antihistamines, antidepressant etc. that can cause dry mucus membranes.

Also if you feel like pills and food get stuck in your throat? Don’t forget that it could maybe be acid reflux because of smoking, drinking alcohol, caffein rich beverages or greasy/spicy diet. Even because of some meds like Prednisone and other meds can also cause the acid reflux burning ur throat too if u take them without PPIs.

I suggest you guys do a Schirmer’s test. It was one of the things my Rheaumy had me doing straight away along checking me for Sjogrens and RA too.
