How many people are still negative? Id like to hear ur story. Im ana negative currently and struggling to get diagnosed.
Mine was a low positive in December and then came out of the flare and by first of January it was negative. My new Rheumi is still treating it as a positive. Finally a doctor on my side that will listen and treat symptoms.
I was negative in 2017 but showed clear signs. But had to go thru ruling out 100 other possible issues. ANA not run again til dec 2019. Positive. Low titer but positive. Speckled. Not sure I kinda think some people don’t develop the antibodies for awhile while symptoms still progress. I think in my case cause I know something has been wrong for awhile. Years. Unless it was another autoimmune deal then lupus came up. Tricky. Annoying.
I was and at times still have negative Ana. But am being treated with lupus medication
It nice to have docs that might think out of the computer and takes each patient and symptoms as individuals. That’s a doctor! Wish everyone found docs that showed confidence in themselves and move ahead with treatment appropriately based on patient not what the “normals” say.
Throughout 2018 when I was beginning to feel symptomatic, I tested negative to everything and so multiple doctors brushed me off. It was in the beginning of 2019 I had my first rheumatologist appointment and by then, my ANA came up positive and my other bloodwork was abnormal as well. It takes a while for these things to fully show themselves, and even then sometimes it's still a struggle to convince people you have lupus. I see two rheumatologists and the first one I saw diagnosed me with SLE (based on symptoms and bloodwork), whereas the second one I see is in denial about it because I don't have the anti-sm antibody. It's like despite everything else being positive, he's hung up on the one damn antibody I don't have 🙄
