I'm 38 years old. I've known that I have SLE for 19 years. Recently I find that my ability to be mobile is decreasing. I'm having a hard time walking and I find that I am not able to get up from a sitting position without assistance. I'm afraid to tell my husband because I'm newly wed and I don't want to scare him. Right now he thinks that our bed is the problem. What should I do? I feel lonely and lost right now. To top it off my rheumatologist discontinued all my meds
have your rheumatologist or primary doctor prescribe physical therapy for core development - that will help, but it takes a while - the problem is that the Lupus has debilitated the muscles which support your core. . . I know, I have had three rounds of physical therapy about two years apart and still have some problems, but they are less. The other thing to do is search on the internet for legitimate exercises for core (usually under fear of falling) and start doing them
Try to soak as much as possible in Epsom salt. And if you are up and around try to stay moving but I know at night it does change to stiff time but if you were moving hopefully it won't be that bad.
And also about being afraid of telling your husband/family how sick you are, we all are scared to be our true selves showing our weakened state but if they love us they will help us no matter what. Self-love is speaking our truth.
Why has your Rheumatologist discontinued your medications? Seems pretty cruel! Were you taking Hydroxichloriqui--nine? My Rheumatolo -gist assures me that it is an important part of my treatment, I take it daily and would not like to be deprived of it !!
You need to inform him if whats going on? Why did the doctor discontinue your meds you them
I think you should be honest with him and tell him what you're going through he married you For Better or For worse through sickness and in health. There's nothing more important or supportive then the love from your husband. You shouldn't have to go through this alone. We are here for you as well.
