Ive been on Plasmaquine, Prednisone and Azapress since january and I am losing so much hair..
I had two big flare ups one end of December snd one in Feb.. my Doc says hairloss is normal after being so sick..
Does anyone else have this? Will it grow back??

My hair is getting so thin and also breaks off at different points so i have like super short peices everywhere 😫😫

Hi, I lost hair in clumps! Thought I was suffering with cancer or something 😳 mine is growing thick again. Not sure if it's the plasmoquine or the charcoal shampoo that im using. I also eventually cut my hair as the long hair looked sad. Strongs girl, it will get better hopefully 🌻

I’ve experienced hair loss on and off for years. One thing I’ve learned is that it is like a canary in a coal mine. If the hair loss becomes excessive, and I am on a new medication, it is telling me that it is toxic to my body and not worth it. Usually, I wait too long to notice. By then I’ve not just loss my hair, but teeth as well. I will usually have a lot of extra pain when this happens. Once I remove the correct drug, I go back to my normal hair growth and loss cycle with Lupus. It sucks, but not as extreme. One thing that I found helped me was taking a Biotin vitamin. I even poured some (from gel capsules) directly only my scalp. I know everyone is different. But, this has been my experience and what has helped. I wish you luck!

I experienced this too and it was really upsetting. I was told my hair would come back and it has. Hair loss is now my early indicator that my lupus is bubbling up and to be proactive. Your beautiful with or without pretty hair right now. It will come back. I sat on the bathroom floor crying when I was going through the hair thing. I was also told I was being vain and to be glad I’m alive. That didn’t help at all. I know how depressing the hair thing can be
I look back at pictures and it didn’t look as bad as I thought it did at the time
I cut my super long hair off at the time and had in long again in a year
Good luck

Hi!
I too was experiemcing hair loss & breakage. My hair wouldn’t grow & it looked horrible.

My doctor put me on Benlysta & it took a good 6 months, but my hair finally starting growing & got healthy.

Ive been on Benlysta for 4 years now & my hair is the longest its been in about 7 years. Not entirely sure I can say its a result of Benlysta, but I relate it to that.

Biotin supplements also ate suppose to help woth hair growth.
Talk to your doctor about your concerns.

I completely understand.

Hahng in there.

Hugs!

Oh, wow biotin actually works! That’s awesome!! I should try that! My nails and eye lashes are very long but my hair is short and very thin. I used to have thick and long hair which I miss so much! Does anyone know if hair extensions would be a good idea?!
