Also body aces and just general malaise.
Thanks for your input TS. It's good to know that you and Tashamarie and others here have had similar experiences while tapering down. Helps my anxiety to know I'm not alone.
I am like @A MyLupusTeam Member. Once I get to prednisone 10mg daily, I have to lower the dose 1mg per day a week at a time or I develop flare symptoms that require an increase in the prednisone dosage.
Even a 1 mg taper affects me a lot. I go into a mini flare for three to four days, sometimes even a week.
Tapering down to 9mg from 10. Supposed to stay at 9mg for 4 weeks then drop to 8mg for 4 weeks then 7mg for 4 weeks etc. until I get down to 2.5mg. But even at 1mg drop from10mg I'm not feeling well. I'm thinking the fever may be indication that the taper is making me flare up.
I'm on 10mg a day since September of 2019. This is my second attempt at tapering. About 4 weeks ago at my rheumatologist appt. my doc suggested tapering down by 2.5mg at a time. The taper is because I've been having severe stomach pain and elevated blood pressure. 2.5mg was way too much to taper. I got really sick and my entire body was in pain. So I went back up to the 10mg until I felt ok again and re-started the taper but at 1mg at time this time. Even at 1mg I haven't been feeling well. Mostly leg pain, headache, and body aches. Now today I have a fever. Just wondering if this is also part of the taper.
