Yes I find I drink lots of water. Lots of eye drops to for dry eyes. Mine seems worse at night. Your body will tell you when you had enough. Have a blessed evening.

Lupus can indeed make you feel thirsty. Here are some reasons and tips related to thirst and lupus:

Reasons for Thirst:
- Dry Mouth (Xerostomia): Lupus can cause dry mouth, leading to increased thirst.
- Kidney Issues (Lupus Nephritis): Lupus can damage the kidneys, affecting their ability to regulate water and salt, which can result in excessive thirst.
- Hot Weather: Your body may struggle to regulate its temperature, making you feel thirstier, especially on hot and sunny days.

Tips to Manage Thirst:
- Stay Hydrated: Drink enough fluids. The U.S. National Academy of Sciences recommends about 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of liquid per day for men and 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) for women.
- Boost Saliva: Increase salivation by rinsing your mouth with cold water, using mouthwash, sucking on ice, or chewing sugarless gum.
- Adjust Your Diet: Avoid salty, acidic, or dry foods that may increase thirst. Consume nutritious meals to help maintain bodily balance and increase periods of remission.
- Consult Your Doctor: If you have lupus nephritis, discuss your fluid intake with your healthcare provider to avoid fluid overload and dehydration.

Additional Considerations:
- Lifestyle Factors: Exercise, living in a hot environment, sweating a lot, or being pregnant may require you to drink more fluids.
- Community Support: Engage with others who understand lupus for advice and shared experiences.
