I have had migraines almost daily for years. I have had nausea and vomiting for days now. Since being diagnosed these have gotten more frequent. The migraine days went down with plaquenil but I can't find anything to really decrease them. I have limited treatment options due to allergies and health issues that make some meds dangerous. I see a headache specialist neurologist.

Hello Angel7! Nice to meet you!

Since a truck accident in 2003, I had off and on migraines. In September 2019 I developed severe migraines with Aura.
Due to covid, I finally saw my new neurologist last week. My doctor had started me on Propranolol 40mg. My neurologist has upped my dose to a time release Propranolol 80mg.

I am praying this works and will keep you posted.๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ™

My heart goes out to you; you've have suffered for so long. This may not help you on what I am going to tell. I was in a very bad car accident on the freeway over 25 years ago. The vehicle I was driving did not have head rest in it. The traffic on the freeway was at a complete stop where I was hit, a very young teenager girl was listening to her radio and talking on her phone and hit my vehicle and put the trunk in my backseat and my neck popped. I called my husband and told him to come and get me, I could hardly move. My husband came and got me and took me to the emergency room. Several people stopped and got all her insurance information and she begged them not to call the police. One of the people that stopped came to the emergency room and was inquiring and gave my husband all the information.
The doctor I saw said he was having a specialist come in to see what needed to be done. Long story short; I refused surgery and to take any type of pain medicine because pain pills make me sick of my stomach. I went to physical therapy for 8 months and was taught biofeedback for pain. It was not easy to learn I went through 4 instructors before I got it. I still use it to this day. I still have problems with my vertebrates in my neck and back and with the lupus and everything else I have now. I have had so many friends that thought surgery would be their salvation and they keep going under the knife every two or three years. Biofeedback has helped for me and I am pleased with my choices; it's not perfect.
I hope you can find a good doctor that can really talk to you and help you and you might want to ask about biofeedback. It was difficult for me to learn, but I am stubborn. I told one of my instructors it was a waste of time. Th next day I had a new instructor.
Angel, I will pray for you and I am sorry I can't do more. But biofeedback has helped me. Try to relax and don't let stress build up. Even my best friend that is a therapist has to call and talk to me sometimes about her problems. We've been friends since childhood.
