Does anyone take this medication? My rheumy just prescribed it and im trying to get a feel on what the side effects would be or if you all have any recommendations
@A MyLupusTeam Member...The plaquenil will help protect her organs from Lupus. Imuran surpresses the over active immune system caused by Lupus! If the Lupus is under control ideally there will be less pain caused by inflammation. Prednisone helps temporarily. Hope this helps some.💜
I take this and my doc recommended the morning. So that's what I do. Everyone is different of course. It does help me. Azathioprine is the generic name for Imuran. Imuran is an anti rejection drug that they give to transplant patients to help them keep their transplants. My hubby took it after his kidney transplant. Being tired and possible stomach upset. Give it a chance to get in your system though!
Me too. I have been on it for two years and don't remember any side effects.
I used to take it and was getting a lot of UTIs. My doctor had switched me to CellCept because he felt that it was better for me. I hope that you will benefit from it.
Blessings!
I have been taking it since June 2020. I have not had any side effects, but it does not seem to be helping my rash or the pain in my joints and muscles. We are thinking that it might not be a good fit for me. At my next appt we’ll be discussing a switch.
I do hope it works for you though😁
