Hello! I’ve been doing research to see if numb hands were related to Lupus. I’ve never really experienced numb hands before & I haven’t had a flare up in a long time. Ever since I started going back to the gym consistently (6x a week—fitness became one of my passions & favorite passtimes), I noticed that my hands would be numb way too often. It is stronger mid-sleep, where sometimes I would wake up to my numb hands to re adjust my position and sometimes there is slight pain on my fingers. I… read more

Hi Tiff, I started experiencing numbness in my hands after I had covid-19 last year, April/May 2020. It happens less often than initially. I had a horrible case of covid but no ventilator or ICU. Still have Long Covid and surprised that most healthcare workers have no idea what that is. I hope you find some answers. Message me if you do ok?

Hello, I would say it is pretty common for lupus patients. My hands get super blue/white pretty often now where they get super numb/sting but it wasn’t like this when I was first diagnosed. They would just get blue but it just got worse as time progressed I would say it was more noticeable I guess for me about three months ago so it could be something that just needs to be checked for you.
But when I did workout at the gym pretty often It didn’t affect my hands or make them numb mid way through a workout. Hope this kind of helps and you are able to get proper answers when you see your Rheum.

Have you been checked for Reynaulds? Numbing of the hands. It seems to go hand in hand with Lupus. And yes I have it. It sucks!!!!!
