I’d love to hear from you !
The bf and I are looking into maybe moving to another state but i wondered if i move to somewhere cold if it would affect my body alot. Like changing from pure hotness (FL) to say somewhere like North Carolina lol.
@A MyLupusTeam Member I suspect another reason lupies and other AI are told to avoid the heat is heat intolerance. I still have a bit, even indoors, as SFN (maybe hypothalamus, brain stuff, MCAS?) somedays have me sensitive to even the heat from the stove or humidity from the kettle. It can make me feel weak, nauseous. But I’m an extreme example. Thankfully my temp tolerance has been improving the last two years and I’ve been able to be outdoors much more the past two summers and take walks in winter (with proper layers).
I was born and raised in NJ
Moved to Sunny Florida about 11 years ago. Well, My.RA hates the cold and My Lupus hates the heat.
So that's where I'm at. 🙃
A friend of mine with Lyme moved from KC to Memphis. There is still a bit of colder weather there but not nearly so much as KC. I would encourage you if you’re going to make a change to a place that has a winter choose a place with a mild winter. If you want more snow you can always take a trip and then go back to your comfort zone
I used to live in Santa Barbara, CA, just north of LA. It was such a beautiful place at the time. And, I’ve stayed all over California. I won’t go back….for a variety of reasons but I believe the weather is changing out there and the fires have been awful. The crime has gotten really bad pretty bad and the cost of living is higher than suits my retirement budget. Those are just some of my reasons ……. Not to offend anyone living there……
before you move make sure you have close and good doctor around. I will do my research and read reviews. Good luck
