I know about the risks involved with this. I want to know if anyone has had this and how it worked for you and what if any side affects you experienced.

My rheumatologist only recommended the reclast infusion. He said they have had great results with it. First year average 11% bone mineral density increase and after 2nd year a 20.7% density increase. He also felt I was a good fit for this treatment because I'm unable to take any pills for this because of the gastrointestinal issues I have. Praying for healing for myself and everyone else 🙏

Thanks for info. Luckily the reclast is just once a year infusion. Couldn't stand the thought of taking another pill. Hopefully I get some results and only have to have 2-3 infusions. I just worry about side affects...seems like everything comes with a trade off. You and hubby have a wonderful day.
I have. I was on Bonita for a year. Doc said I should not be on it for over a year. I now use 'recast' once a year" No pain except the needle stick.
@A MyLupusTeam Member. I hope your infusion went well. I know how scary it is to start something new, especially when it is IV. The dental ship has sailed for me. I have lost all of my back teeth from extended steroid use. Got NICO (type of osteonecrosis). Bone was like chalk when he cleaned out my jaw. I am now strapped with partials. Cant ever get implants. Thats what concerns me for all of you being on steroids for so long.
Have the doctors ever mentioned taking Forteo to rebuild your bone? It is the only medication that will do that. After 2 years on it my husband gained 14 percent of the bone he had lost. My rheumatologist wants me to get a bone density test when I am done with this year on forteo then start prolia.
