I had lupus nephritis 2 in the beginning of my lupus journey. I also have artificial aortic heart valve and plural effusion. They started me on methotrexate tablets straight away. Then eventually methotrexate injection. That cleared the nephritis because it was mild and doc picked it up early. Methotrexate doesn’t work for me now so like Brian I am on mycophenolate tablets..
That is mainly to control lupus symptoms for me.
I didn’t feel I had to do anything special when I had nephritis. Except what we do every day. Such as eat clean drink water and exercise as much as possible.
My rheumo put me under care of kidney specialist to keep an eye on it. I have urine tested every six months and see him then too. So far all has been clear for past 10 years.
So yeah pretty much methotrexate to stop lupus from attacking kidney further and watchful eye from kidney specialist.
