I become very clumsy and unsteady when I am in pain and drop things or walk into things. Just walked into a small table and upturned my husbands drink which stained the carpet.

Would really appreciate if you feel able to let me know what your neurologist says is causing this.
Hope he can help you 😊

Plaquenil, only the brand, has done so much for me. My body fights so many meds. I have been to physical therapy for my unsteadiness. Sometimes it comes from your inner ear. It might be worth thinking about. My knees swell and that gives me problems walking. Even inner stress can affect your walking. I am on my way to bed, waiting for a wonderful day tomorrow. Blessings!

Thank you Barbara for adding me to your team. I’m very impressed that you 19 grandchildren! Like you I am very grateful that I didn’t have lupus when I was younger. It is almost a year ago that I visited the rheumatologist and he started me on Plaquenil straight away which helped the pain and swelling in my hands. Since then so many other symptoms have surfaced that I started on Prednisone last August and will continue until May when hopefully things will be under control.
Would appreciate hearing any news you receive about the unsteadiness as I don’t know if there is anything to be done about it. Hope we can keep in touch and that you have a better day tomorrow. 🥰

Hi Vicki andPatrick! You are definitely right about age. Thank you Vicki for the compliment. Actually I am 83. The picture is a few years old. We do have 17 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way. I have days I feel strong, walk well and fast if I choose.I have days I am all over the place. I side step, bump into furniture. Today I am having a bad day. No energy, mind slow. On a day like this I do as little as possible. I am fortunate to have gotten lupus later in life. I can’t imagine how young working people do it. I also have several other problems that also came late in life also. So I feel so blessed that I had a wonderful life feeling amazingly well. I thank God everyday. Also on bad days I know tomorrow will be a new day!
