A MyLupusTeam Member asked a question 💭
Mulberry, FL

I'm asking this question because I have heard that weed can help a little with pain. I am on hydroxychloroquine as well, but I'm also getting a new Rheumatologist. My appointment is on the 24th. I'm not happy with my old rheumatologist. She keeps pushing to go on methotrexate.

The thing is, I'm not denying that I have Lupus, but I feel I need to get a second opinion.

In the meantime I just want to try weed to see if it helps.

So, has anyone tried or been on it?

Thanks and have a great… read more

My rheumatologist will not even discuss it with me. She says “no way”! However, my neurologist says “go for it,” if it works, fine!! I’m with the neurologist! 😃

I smoke weed on an almost daily basis. It does help with pain, but for me it's about relieving stress & anxiety. I will be checking out some gummies also to switch it up.

Please read:
What is the purpose of the AVISE test?
Getting an early diagnosis of lupus is critical to preventing long-term consequences of the disease. Unfortunately, there isn’t just 1 test doctors can use to determine if you have lupus. Doctors must consider many different sources of information to make a diagnosis. Lupus and other autoimmune diseases can be especially hard for doctors to distinguish and diagnose since they often have similar symptoms. Sometimes, it can take months — or even years — before your doctor has all the information needed to make a lupus diagnosis. With the AVISE® CTD test, doctors can say “yes” or “no” to several similar diseases at the same time—and this can help speed up the diagnostic process.
While some RA's "guess" a person has lupus or not is awful. RA's are bone specialist, they are NOT lupus specialist.
If you have lupus on your skin, the only way to diagnosis is to do a skin biopsy. Skin lupus does not show up in
your body labs.
I have tried all the pharmacy drugs & quite them all cold turkey w/out any side effects. It was the best thing I
ever did for myself/my body.
I love CBD anything, & smoke medical marijuana, I love it, it all makes me very happy & less pain.
God bless everyone in this journey, praying we all can find our own way through this.

I don’t see marijuana as a “drug”, as much as I see it as a plant given to us by God.
