Been on Plaquenil for 14 years . Recently I am having issues with the generic Plaquenil causing itching ,but no rashes. Looking into getting the brand from Canada to try . They carry the manufacturer Sanofi versus US Concordia . Has anyone been successful in ordering from Canada ? I have a few to check into but wanted to see if anybody has gone that route ! Thank you .Hope you all are having a good weekend .

I have itching, I have looked into this (Google) and ask my Dr.- Itching is a fairly common symptom of Lupus. I developed itching without a rash 2 years ago. it comes and goes and can be quite intense. I treat with Gabapentin 300mg. It works well and I have no side effects from it. Sometimes I need to take it 3 times a day. "Skin crawls" and itching all over my body. Immune system causes inflammation of nerve endings that cause itching and for some people (not me), a burning sensation. I do get neuropathy in my hands, feet, lower arms and legs with sun exposure. Once again gabapentin is my life saver.

I have worked in pharmacy for many years. There are different company’s that make generic plaquenil. You can request a different manufacturer from your pharmacy and they can order it for you. Sometimes going to a privately owned pharmacy they are more willing to oblige than a big box store.
