I was diagnosed by the Cleveland Clinic about 25 yrs ago with Lupus.
I had positive ANA all those years and now local rhematologist says not positive for ANA. Says I do not have Lupus. But I still have all the same symptoms, nothing has changed except for the ANA.

I have seronegative lupus. I don’t have the ANA’s but I definitely have lupus. Talk to your rheumatologist about it or find a new doctor that understands this. Good luck!

Your ANA can change from + to - and back again and you still have Lupus. It takes more than a blood test to ;diagnose this dreaded disease. The docs have to take ALL labs into account along with symptoms. If you have your ANA tested when you are in a flare there is a good chance it will show positive. One never knows. If you are not happy with this rheumy by all means find another. One that you are happy with. One that will explain things to you. You are entitled to that. Keep us informed. We are all here to help.🙂
